There’s a lot to consider:
We know traditional models are failing. You're ready to enhance or innovate behavioral health, but your organization's unique complexities are blocking the path forward.
With Holly's approach, you'll experience support for your vision and customized solutions rooted in your organization's strengths and data. We bring both the relational and technical skills needed to connect with your team in order to collectively guide the work. Best of all, your team will walk away feeling inspired and prepared to take a radically empathic approach to behavioral health.
“Sometimes, there are internal team hesitations to work with a consultant. I feel so confident working with Holly. So much of what Holly brings is her ability to relate and connect with people. She has the amazing ability to deliver on the content and make the process enjoyable.” - Lizzie Horevitz, Chief of Behavioral Health
A HH & Co. Client Success Story
A look at our work with Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment providers.
We partnered with a California SUD organization with just over 100 dedicated staff operating residential and outpatient programs across three counties. They provide high-quality and affordable treatment services to individuals, families, and communities facing substance use disorders. Since 1969, the nonprofit has created culturally inclusive, alcohol and drug-free environments where people can experience personal and social growth.
The Opportunity
Our work with our client began during a transition in senior leadership. From a team perspective, a significant organizational change stacked on top of long-hours, intense daily work, and a global pandemic meant the stakes were high professionally and personally. New leadership saw this as a critical moment to provide their incredible staff with increased levels of support.
The Solution
Our focus was on providing Evidence-Based professional learning opportunities and offering high-quality therapy services at low cost for staff to access to support work-life balance and general health & wellbeing goals.
Our client welcomed the chance to have their team attend clinical skills training, and we partnered on outreaching to staff about the therapeutic benefit. At the time, their Employee Assistance Program had a 2% and lower utilization rate, which is common for most organizations, and reflects that staff were not taking advantage of the therapy benefit. With that EAP, the fiscal arrangement and the access barriers were disincentives for what we saw as vital pathways to care. Together, we knew a unique approach was needed.
Replacing the traditional EAP, the Holly Hughes & Co. team of clinicians offered access to therapy sessions to each staff member using video and phone access. We also provided a monthly outreach campaign to increase staff participation by sharing vibrant marketing messaging targeting the unique stressors people face when working high-volume, high-stakes jobs. All our clinicians offered a holistic approach that included work-life balance, mental wellness, and recovery expertise. As is true in most SUD organizations, many of the staff had that unique set of needs, which is why we were a great fit.
The Impact
Nearly a year later, the data show that our model was an effective form of support to staff on their journey to reducing work stress and improving mood. The clinicians at HH & Co. also report high job satisfaction in offering care to others on the front lines. We are thrilled to have signed on for an additional year to continue this unique partnership.
